Newly opened The Orchard Centre in Didcot celebrates its past
Located close to the A34, The Orchard Centre is located in the historic town of Didcot, Oxfordshire.
In March 2018, The Orchard Centre opened a £50million extension that welcomed new brands to the region, including Boots, M&S Foodhall, River Island and Star Bucks. The Orchard Centre has firmly established itself as a destination for shopping and entertainment against a backdrop of a rich railway history.
The town’s railway heritage is one that is celebrated today – Didcot was station on Brunel’s Great Western Main Line from London Paddington, opening in 1844. This heritage lives on today through its railway museum, power stations and locally based F1 team – Williams Engineering.

NexusEngage installed the huge interactive locomotive that encouraged continued engagement from the disrupted shopper. With eleven different multi-coloured touchpoints on the train and the journey it is on, the player needs to follow the wall mounted voyage.
Head of Marketing for Retail Parks said: “The interactive train is a huge hit with shoppers and children (and the director of retail parks!). Launch day at Didcot was a huge success and we could not have done it without you all.”
Sound the horn and let some steam off, the train is ready to depart from The Orchard Centre, Didcot. Toot, toot!
