The story

Oxford is a very busy city, with huge educational, cultural, commerce and historic significance.

As a destination, the city of Oxford has so much to offer both residents and visitors alike. There’s many reasons why visitors return; the ancient civilisation, historical points of interest, people of national and international importance and famous landmarks to name just a few. There truly is something for all the family. These reasons are now complemented with the redevelopment and reopening of the new Westgate; a shopping experience with many facilities:

  • Over 100 new shops including recognisable high street retailers and independent, niche outlets
  • Cafés and restaurants
  • Leisure facilities including a cinema
  • New landscaped walkway along Castle Mill Stream
  • Two new public squares
  • Two-storey basement car park of between 900 and 1,100 spaces
  • 59 new one- and two-bedroom apartments

The solution by NexusEngage

With the focal point of the shopping experience in historic Oxford focused on the revitalised Westgate, NexusEngage were briefed to use interactive technology to engage and educate passing customers. Using currently empty retail space, NexusEngage compiled an interactive quiz that  celebrated Oxford’s illustrious past and, to test people’s knowledge!

The solution installed consisted of:

  • Print and install over 30m of vinyl wall wrap, with artwork and messaging that engages and educates
  • Provide and install technology to promote interest and encourage consumers to answer questions about the City of Oxford
  • Drive footfall to nearby retailer by giving consumer a voucher containing an offer or a prize, as a reward for taking the quiz
