The Oracle on the banks of the River Kennet in Reading has been a destination for shopping, leisure, and enjoyment since it’s opening on 23 September 1999. With its 108 stores for all trends, fashions, tastes, and plenty of restaurants to host the shopper, The Oracle has defined itself as a fantastic experience for all ages.
Redeployment by NexusEngage
Building on an existing relationship with Hammerson PLC – the operators of The Oracle – NexusEngage proposed, designed, and implemented new technology that triggers the attention of passing shoppers and trend hunters. Stretching over 9.5m long and 2.7m high, the new installation focused on a piano.
Illuminated keys that play a note when touched, engaged people of all ages to create music as unique as they are. Any piece of music is playable on the vast technological installation.
Made to measure, this piece replaced redundant retail shopfronts with something that attracts attention and makes people smile. This creative execution featured an ActionWall. Such an installation has proven to increase dwell time in malls where we have implemented this engagement piece.
The enticement is clear for all to see and the subsequent activity has created a truly memorable experience in The Oracle.
